Bell- Metal (not bronze or kansa) Plate. (bell metal is alloy mainly of copper and tin. It can be differentiated from bronze/kansa as it has higher tin content and no zinc( which is part of bronze/kansa and leads to tarnishing). Tin gives it more elegance and make it more durable and valuable.

Due to higher tin content , its oxidability is low and it tarnishes less. These properties make them one of highly used metals for puja.Yet highly Acidic food like lemon, pickles and tamrind should be avoided.
*May get tarnished with continuous exposure to water and humidity. Should be polished or cleaned with specialized solution or lemon, tamrind etc.
** Its prone to breaking. Accidental falling should be avoided
